Health SatNav
Website and Platform Terms & Conditions
1. About these terms
These terms govern access to and use of healthsatnav.com, the Health SatNav web application, related content, accounts and services (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Health SatNav is operated by Soma Health Life Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16682530, with its registered office at 2nd Floor Butler House, 177-178 Tottenham Court Road, London, England, W1T 7AF.
Additional terms may apply to a paid subscription, employer or healthcare-organisation programme, research project, pilot, beta test or professional service. Where there is a conflict, the expressly agreed additional terms take priority for that service.
2. Who may use the Service
- The individual-facing Service is intended for adults aged 18 years and over.
- You must have legal capacity to enter into these terms.
- You must use the Service only for yourself unless an authorised caregiver, healthcare professional or organisational workflow expressly permits otherwise.
- Professional and organisational users must act within their authority, role, competence and applicable governance requirements.
- The Service is primarily directed to users in the United Kingdom. We do not represent that content available on or through the Service is appropriate for use or available in other locations.
3. What Health SatNav does
Health SatNav helps users organise user-supplied health and lifestyle information, compare selected confirmed measurements with controlled reference ranges, view descriptive status indicators and trends, and receive general, non-prescriptive wellness considerations and signposting.
4. Important health and medical limitations
- The Service does not diagnose, screen for, predict, prevent, monitor or treat disease or a medical condition.
- It does not recommend, prescribe, start, stop or alter medicines or medical treatment.
- It is not an emergency service and does not continuously monitor time-critical physiological processes.
- It does not replace the independent judgement of a qualified healthcare professional.
- A displayed range, category, trend, consideration or conversational response is not a diagnosis or assurance that you are healthy.
Do not delay seeking professional, urgent or emergency help because of anything shown — or not shown — by the Service. In the UK, call 999 where there may be an immediate threat to life or serious harm.
5. Your account and security
- You must provide accurate registration information and keep it updated.
- You are responsible for safeguarding your password, authentication codes and devices.
- Do not share credentials or permit unauthorised access.
- Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access, loss of credentials or misuse of your account.
- We may suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users, data, the Service or compliance obligations.
6. Information you enter or upload
- You are responsible for ensuring that information you enter or upload is accurate, lawful, relevant and relates to the correct person.
- You must check measurement names, values, units, dates, context and source information.
- You must not upload another person’s information unless you have a valid legal basis and authority to do so.
- Do not upload content that is unlawful, malicious, infringing, offensive, defamatory, pornographic, harmful to minors, misleading, infringes others’ rights, technically harmful or designed to harass or harm others. We have the right to remove any information you upload if, in our opinion, the information does not comply with these standards.
7. Use of AI, extraction, accuracy and use of outputs
The Service may use automated techniques to extract candidate information from uploaded documents, compare confirmed measurements with controlled reference ranges, assign descriptive status categories, generate trends and provide bounded conversational or wellness content.
We take reasonable steps to design and operate the Service safely, but user-entered data, source documents, extraction, third-party services, reference ranges, generated language and software may contain errors or be incomplete, delayed or unavailable. We make no representations, warranties or guarantees, whether express or implied, that the content on the Service is accurate, complete or up to date.
- Extracted information may be wrong and so must be checked against the original source.
- Safety-relevant reference ranges and evaluation rules are subject to appropriate change control and versioning.
- Generated language may be incomplete or incorrect even when it appears plausible. Do not rely on unconfirmed, outdated, inconsistent or implausible information.
- Do not use the Service as the sole basis for a clinical, medication, urgent-care or other consequential decision.
- Healthcare professionals remain responsible for independent judgement and normal clinical governance.
8. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the Service unlawfully, fraudulently or to harm another person;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access, test vulnerabilities without written permission, disrupt the Service or introduce malicious code (including without limitation, viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful, or otherwise harmfully interacting with the Service or any part of it);
- text or data mine, scrape, copy, reverse engineer or extract substantial parts of the Service except where law expressly permits;
- misrepresent an output as a diagnosis, prescription or professional clinical decision;
- use automated systems to access the Service in a manner not expressly authorised;
- infringe intellectual-property, confidentiality, privacy or data-protection rights.
9. Beta and pilot services
Some functionality may be offered as beta, pilot, test or early-access functionality. It may be incomplete, changed, withdrawn or subject to additional monitoring and feedback. Beta functionality must not be used for time-critical or high-consequence decisions. We will identify beta or pilot status where reasonably practicable.
10. Fees, subscriptions and cancellation
Where paid services are offered, the price, taxes, billing period, minimum term, renewal, cancellation process and any right to cancel will be shown before purchase and confirmed in a durable format such as email.
For consumer distance contracts, statutory cancellation and refund rights apply where required by law. Where a consumer asks for a digital service to begin during a cancellation period, the checkout process will obtain any express request, acknowledgement or consent required by applicable law.
11. Availability, maintenance and changes
We may update, maintain, suspend or change the Service to improve safety, security, compliance or functionality. We do not promise uninterrupted availability. Where reasonably possible, we will provide notice of material changes that adversely affect users.
We do not guarantee that the Service will be secure or free from bugs or viruses. You are responsible for configuring your information technology, computer programs and platform to access the Service. You should use your own virus protection software.
12. Third-party services and links
The Service may depend on or link to third-party websites, cloud services, laboratories, devices or information sources. We do not control third-party content or availability. A link or integration does not mean endorsement. Third-party terms and privacy notices may apply.
13. Intellectual property
The Service, software, design, branding, content, evaluation logic and materials are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service in accordance with these terms.
You retain rights in information you lawfully provide. You give us the rights reasonably necessary to host, process, display and operate that information in connection with the Service and facilitate delivery of the Service.
14. Privacy and cookies
Our handling of personal information is governed by our Privacy Notice. Our use of cookies and similar technologies is described in our Cookie Policy and managed through the available cookie controls. These documents form part of the information governing use of the Service but do not reduce your legal rights.
15. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and may close your account using the available process. We may suspend or terminate access for business and operational reasons, including where you materially breach these terms, create a safety or security risk, misuse the Service, or where suspension is required for legal or regulatory reasons. We will act proportionately and, where appropriate, explain the reason.
16. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights.
Subject to the paragraph above, we are not responsible for losses caused by information you enter incorrectly, use contrary to these terms or instructions, failure to verify important information, unauthorised account use that you could reasonably have prevented, or events outside our reasonable control.
If you are a consumer user: we only provide the Service for domestic and private use. You agree not to use the Service for any commercial or business purposes, and we have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.
If you are a business user:
- To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied conditions, warranties, representations or other terms that may apply to the Service or any content available through it.
- We will not be liable to you for any loss of profits, sales, business, or revenue; business interruption; loss of anticipated savings; loss of business opportunity, goodwill or reputation; or any indirect or consequential loss or damage, in each case whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, relating to or arising from your use of the Service.
17. Complaints and support
Contact us at support@healthsatnav.com. We will explain the applicable support and complaints process. Safety incidents, suspected incorrect outputs, data-security concerns and events involving possible harm should be reported promptly with enough information for investigation.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes to the Service, law, regulation or our business. We will publish the updated version and effective date. Where a change materially affects an ongoing paid service, we will provide reasonable notice and any rights required by law. If you do not agree with the material change, you may terminate your use of the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
19. Governing law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you also retain any mandatory protections available under the law of the country in which you live, and you may bring proceedings in any court that has jurisdiction under applicable law. Business disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
20. General
- If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
- A delay in enforcing a right does not waive that right.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our written agreement. We may transfer our rights as part of a reorganisation, financing or sale, provided this does not reduce consumer rights. If we transfer our rights to another organisation, we will tell you in writing.
- Only the parties to these terms may enforce them, except where law provides otherwise.
